NORWICH – Myrtle E. Maricle, 90 years young, born Aug. 28, 1917, passed to be with the Lord on May 28, 2008 in Albany, Oregon.
Myrtle lived in Chenango County until moving to Oregon to be with her daughter in August 2005. She was the daughter of Claude and Mabel Rathbone. She married Edwin W. Maricle on Feb. 19, 1937.
She loved to crochet, embroider, read and trips to the Oregon coast. She also enjoyed going to Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon. Garage sales were high on her list of things to do also.
She is survived by daughter Marjorie Frear of Oregon, Mary Maricle of Ninevah, and grandchildren: Kyle Frear and wife Julie, Kris Frear all of Oregon. Also Betty Reese, Paul Gregg, Valeeta Maricle, Adam Maricle, James Maricle, Cyndie Lighty, Michele Slocum and her sister Alyssa and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Very special people in her life were: Carl and Arlene Cummings, Dorothy Magolocci, and Marion Underwood. She is also survived by sisters: Wanda Burlingame, Mary Maricle, Doris Vandula, Edna Sutton and brother Claude Rathbone.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin W. Maricle and sons Edwin P. Maricle, Raymond M. Maricle, and daughter Carolyn A. Maricle and sisters: Beatrice Cummings, Dorothy Foster, Grace Breeze, and brother Delbert Rathbone.
Interment will be in North Norwich Cemetery at a later date.
