PITTSFIELD – Donald E. Lennon, Sr. DDS, 90 years old, Pittsfield, died June 9, 2008 at his home.
Donald was born on Dec. 22, 1917 in New York City and moved to Pittsfield as an infant. He was the son of Benjamin & Margaret (Sproule) Lennon.
Donald was a 1939 graduate of Hamilton College and in 1952 graduated from the University of Buffalo as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
He married Mabel Louise Anderson on Aug. 17, 1946. She predeceased him on April 3, 1996. He later married Renate Lennon on Sept. 4, 2004 who survives.
Donald is survived by a son: Peter Lennon of Newport News, Va.; a daughter-in-law: Barbara Lennon of Unadilla; two grandchildren: Colleen E. Lennon of Seattle, Wash. and Benjamin E. Lennon of New York City.
He was predeceased by one son, Donald Lennon Jr., in 1999.
Dr. Lennon was a dentist in New Berlin from 1952-1986.
Donald served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1942 to 1946 with service in North Africa, Sicily and Italy for which he was awarded the Silver Star.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, New Berlin, with Reverend Charles Taylor officiating.
The interment will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin immediately following the funeral.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pittsfield Emergency Squad and Fire Department.
