NORWICH – Arthur L. Farrell, 78, long time Norwich resident and runner owner of Farrell’s Gun Shop, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008 in the Gilmour Health Care Facility, where he had made his home for the past several years.
Art was born in June of 1930 in Delhi, the son of Arthur and Dorotha White. He attended and graduated from the Norwich High School and on Dec. 31, 1955 in Sherburne, he married Shirley Sandberg Farrell, who passed away Dec. 23, 1987.
Art and his family operated the family dairy farm for several years before moving to the Pat Farley Road where he and his wife operated Farrell’s Gun Shop. Following the death of his wife, Art continued to operate the gun shop until 1991.
Art is survived by his children and their spouses: Sharlene and Stephen Beckwith of Plymouth, Arthur and Anna Farrell Jr. of Odessa, Texas and Linda and Stephen Campbell of Schuylerville. Also surviving are his many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Arthur and Sharon Sandberg of Norwich.
Private services for Art will be held at the convenience of the family.
