NORTH NORWICH – Ray Charles Moon, “Charlie,” of North Norwich, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 14, 2008 at his home in North Norwich.
Charlie was born in March of 1949 in Norwich and attended school in Sherburne and South New Berlin, from which he was a 1969 graduate. Wanting to explore the United States, Charlie traveled out west where he worked on several farms. Returning home, he gained employment with the Norwich Shoe Company and Sheffield Products until ill health forced his retirement.
Charlie is survived by Roger and Marjorie Bliss of North Norwich, who lovingly raised him as their own son since the age of 6; his sisters: Charlotte Thomsen and her husband Jon of South New Berlin, Mary Alice Moon of Edmeston; and his brother, Leon Moon Stamp. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and two great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Archie Moon.
At Charlie’s request, there will be no formal funeral service.
