Lydia Fuller
CINCINNATUS – Lydia A. (Kibbe) Fuller, 89, formerly of Cincinnatus, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Cortland Care Center, Cortland, while surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Fuller was born in Taylor Center, on March 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Lee and Maude Potter Kibbe. A lifelong resident of the area, she attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Cincinnatus. She retired from the U.S. Post Office in North Pitcher on March 20, 1981 after 17 years of service. She was a member and lecturer of NYS Grange, Past Secretary of the Cortland County Grange and current member of the Otselic Valley Grange. From 1944 until 1963, she assisted her husband, Edward Fuller, on the family farm. She also owned and operated Fuller’s Superette in North Pitcher with her husband for several years. Mrs. Fuller was known county wide for recitations. She was a member of the Home Bureau, Mt. Roderick, a member of RSVP, and until recently was active with the Sr. Citizen’s Program.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Roberta) Fuller of Cincinnatus, and David (Monika) Fuller of Taylor; and her daughter, Beverly (Barney) Small of Pharsalia. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Sheila (Joe) Fox of Cortland, William Fuller of Cincinnatus, Cheryl (Buzzy) Munro of Cincinnatus, Marni Fuller of Cortland, Moniqa (Mark) Levine of Appleton, WI, Kimberly (Tom Brightman) Llewellyn of Norwich, and Billy Jo Bevins of Cincinnatus; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edward Fuller, on November 18, 2001; brothers, George and Howard Kibbe and sisters, Mabel Root, Grace Kibbe, Ruth Carpenter, Emily Moon, Rev. Mary Kibbe, Alice Kelly, and Nellie Merchant.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Cincinnatus, with her pastor, Rev. Palmer Neumeister officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
