NORWICH – Jerome T. Nial Sr., 66, of Fox Glen Road, Chuckey, Tenn., died Friday afternoon, Aug. 1, 2008 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.
He was a security officer. He was a veteran of Vietnam and retired from the United States Navy after 24 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years: Patricia Nial; sons: Jerome T. Nial Jr. of Unadilla, Robert Loomis and his wife, Lauren of Raleigh, N.C., Michael Loomis of Greeneville, Tenn., and Bradford Loomis of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren: Michael Nial of New York, Jennifer Loomis, Christine Loomis, and Amanda Loomis all of Chuckey, Bradford Loomis Jr. and Kyle Loomis both of Denton, Texas, and Joseph Loomis of Raleigh; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: John and Joyce Nial of Norwich, New York, James Nial of Camarillo, Calif., and Joe and Joyce Nial of Muncie, Ind.; two step-children: Denise Elderkin and Beth Elderkin both of Unadilla.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Rose Hill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charles Litton officiating.
Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Greene County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service on Tuesday at Rose Hill Funeral Home.
