OXFORD – Nora May Lockwood Hurlburt, 94, of Oxford passed away on Aug. 17, 2008 at the NYS Veterans’ Home, Oxford. 
She was born on Aug. 18, 1914 in Colchester, the daughter of the late Eugene and Florence (Brown) Hurlburt. She was married to Jesse Hurlburt, Sr., who passed away on Dec. 26, 1957.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jesse, Jr. and Jane Hurlburt of Bainbridge; her daughter in law, Beverly Hurlburt of Cortland; her sister in law, Nellie Lockwood of Guilford and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  She was predeceased by her sons, James, Joseph and John; her brother Gilbert Lockwood and her sister, Iva Winn.
Nora worked at Scintilla in Sidney for several years and was the former owner of the Rockdale Hotel. She also worked as a home health care aide and at the Bida Home in Oxford. She was a member of the Sidney Moose Club Auxiliary for 49 years and a member of Fort Hill Post #376 American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. John Martin, pastor of the Oxford United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
