ALBERT MOORE
NORWICH – Albert A. Moore, 72, life-long Norwich resident, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Norwich in June of 1936, the son of Harold and Roxie (Reynolds) Moore, Al grew up in Norwich and attended the local schools, graduating in 1956 from Norwich High School. Following graduation, he immediately went to work for Silver Farm Dairy, remaining there for 21 years. His next employment was with Bennett-Ireland, where he worked for 11 years, then made the move to Automecha in Oxford. Away from the job, Al enjoyed watching the NASCAR races.
Al is survived by his sister, Janet Franklin and her husband Elbridge “Shorty” of Norwich; his nieces and nephews: James and Sandy Moore, Gary and Jamie Moore and Debby and Brian Cooper, all of Norwich; several great nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law, Gladys Moore of Tallahassee, Fla. Al was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Moore.
Graveside services for Al will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford of Norwich will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
