OXFORD – Dolores “Laurie” Oefelein of Oxford passed away on Oct. 6, 2008 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
She was born on May 3, 1941 in Staten Island, the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Ferout) Orinski. On Dec. 13, 1958 she married William “Lefty” Oefelein, who passed away on April 26, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Thomas and Judy Oefelein of Newton, N.C., Timothy and Lisa Oefelein of Maiden, N.C., Theodore and Kathy Oefelein of Oxford and Tammy Oefelein of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Tommy, James, Nicholas, Gregory, Kali, Eric, Christie and Sabrina; her brothers, Edward Orinski of Oxford and John Orinski of Guilford; and her sister, Dottie Miller of Staten Island. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Laurie was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Oxford Senior Citizens and St. Joseph’s Church.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Oxford with the Rev. Thomas I. Ward celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
