Leslie Brewer
McDONOUGH – Leslie S. Brewer, Sr., 82, of McDonough, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
Mr. Brewer was born in McDonough, on Sept. 21, 1926, a son of the late Stephen and Blanche Smith Brewer. A lifelong resident of the area, he and his wife, Catherine, operated the Shell Station on Hale Street, Norwich before moving their business to McDonough where they owned and operated Les’ Exxon.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen Stoker of Cincinnatus, David (Linda) Brewer of Norwich, Roger (Starla) Brewer of Lusk, Wyo., Richard (Tammy) Brewer of Carlisle, Pa., John (Debra) Brewer of Dover, Pa., Deatta (Tom) Uecker of Dover, Pa., Deb (John) Law of NC, Leslie (Peg) Brewer, Jr. of Preston, Robert (Jackie) Wilcox of Norwich, Kathy (Jack) Barnett of Binghamton, Donald Wilcox of PA, and Patti (David) Cummings of Norwich. He also leaves behind his siblings, Mrs. Ronald (Marian) Arnold of Florida, Mrs. Gerald (Thelma) Temple, Mrs. Tom (Violet) Maroney, and Mrs. Ivan (Elaine) Warren, all of German; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine Ellis Brewer, in 2002, a daughter, Susan Chapman in 2001, and a great-grandson, Dakota Bush. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Fred Brewer, Sr., Esther Cardner, Helena Brewer, Richard Brewer, and Robert Brewer.
The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, which will be followed by a graveside ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at the Westview Cemetery, German.
