NORWICH – John C. Moore Sr., 88, formerly of Norwich, passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 in the New York State Veterans’ Home of Oxford, where he has made his home for he past year and a half.
Born in June of 1920 in Newburgh, he was the son of John and Helen Madden Moore. John had worked on the power plant in Rosenton and was a lab technician for Central Hudson Gas and Electric. He had also worked in the water department at Stewart Air Force Base. John had served his country in the Navy during World War II.
John is survived by his son John C. Moore, Jr. of Middletown; three grandchildren; his sister Janet Caswell of Cornwall; and nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his son Andy Moore; his daughter Karen Bell; his sister Helen McKeel; and his brother Andrew Moore.
At John’s request, there will be no formal services.
