CHITTENANGO – Charles “Charlie” A. Whitmore passed away on Feb. 25, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Private services will be held at North Norwich Cemetery in the spring.
Charlie was a native of Smithville Flats and lived in the Norwich - Sherburne area. He moved to Chittenango in 1970 where he worked on Gates Farm until 1985. He then worked as a grounds keeper at Sullivan Park until he retired in 1999. Charlie lived out his life peacefully in Stonehedge Nursing Home located in Chittenango.
He is survived by four daughters, one son, six grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Charlie is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary and her husband, Robert Taylor, from Sherburne. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Marion, who passed in 1990; a son David,who passed away in 1986; and a grandson, Dustin.
Charlie was a loving, caring and hard working man and will be missed by many.
