GREENE – Robert E. Holcomb, 85, died on Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Temple Terrace, Florida.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel J. Holcomb.
Bob is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Brenda Holcomb, Duane and Robin Holcomb, all of Greene; five grandchildren, Shannon, Sabrina, Joshua, Scott and Louise; three great-grandchildren, Rilee, Abigail and Elizabeth; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Minnie Holcomb, Seffner, FL; sister, Lois Carl, Stone Mountain, GA; three sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Walter Burrows, Mary Webb and Alberta Webb; many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a life member and former director of American Guernsey Association. In his later years, he had a passion for baseball.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Root Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, in the spring.
Friends of the family may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene.
