NEW BERLIN – Cheryl Ann Mitchell, 43 years old, of Syracuse, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.
She was bor on June 18, 1965, in Cortland, and spent her childhood in Oxford. Cheryl is a graduate of Oxford Academy and received her BA in business from SUNY Morrisville.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Garry & Connie (Caldwell) Manwarren of Zephyr Hills, Fla. and her grandparents, Laurence and Eleanor Caldwell of Cortland. She is also survived by her companion Mark Galster, and two sons: Daniel Sabines of Oxford and Christopher Sabines of Syracuse. She was predeceased by one brother, Shawn Going.
Cheryl was a Filing Application Processor for Excellus Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Syracuse. She was a former employee of NBT Bank of Norwich and Red Apple. She was a member of the Mid State Antique Stock Car Club. Cheryl was the proud mother of two sons who loved her very much.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, 17 North Main St. New Berlin, with the Reverend John Hill of the First United Methodist Church of New Berlin officiating.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP.
Interment will be in the J.D. Lewis Cemetery, Preston.
