Harry Winner Sr.
BRAMANVILLE – Harry B. Winner Sr., 97, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by his family, after a long illness.
He was born in Andes on Feb. 7, 1912. He was the son of the late Solomon and Ruby Winner. He was educated in the Franklin School District.
Harry was a member of the Duanesburg Florida Baptist Church. He loved football and was an avid New York Jets fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Harry retired from CONDEC, Schenectady in 1974 where he was a welder.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ardene McMullen Winner on March 13, 2006. He is survived by his children, Thelma Salisbury of Sherburne, Donna Abbott of Canastota, Ruby Crandall (Jack) of Schenectady, Harry Winner, Jr. (Judy) of Virginia, Nancy Haley (Gerry) of Schenectady, Kathleen Lints (Kenny) of Oxford, Linda Tidball of Delanson, Pauline Edwards (Kenny) of Daytona, Fla., Niles Winner of Ohio, Ruby Morrell (Bill) of Amsterdam, Russell Winner (Pam) of Latham, Harriet Barton (Walt) of Rotterdam, Randy Winner (Kathy) of Schenectady, Carol Winner of Mariaville, Danny Winner (Tina) of Rotterdam and Ronnie Winner of Latham. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Patricia Murray; sons-in-law, J. Dennis Nicol and James Lansing; and by his brother, Edmund Winner of Tyner.
Harry was predeceased by his children Donald Murray, Ruth Lansing and Janet Nicol; brothers and sisters, Frances Marbie, Mary Stanbro, Forrest Winner, Raciene Hoke, Mabel Winner, Elmer Winner and Carl Winner.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Demarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Heiderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Services will be held at the Duanesburg-Florida Baptist Church, Bramans Corners at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Those wishing to attend the services ae requested to assemble at the church for the 10 a.m. service. Burial will be in Braman-ville Prospect Cemetery, Bramanville.
