NORWICH – Luella I. Schuessler, 90, formerly of Norwich, died May 1, 2009 in Luther Crest, South Whitehall Township, Pa.
She was the widow of the late Oscar P. Jim Schuessler. Born in Forman, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Augusta (Sundquist) Isackson. She attended Valley City State Teachers College. She was a teacher in the Norwich School District for many years and was a homemaker. She was a founding member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norwich. She was an avid gardener and was well known in the community for her rose gardens and her African violet collection. She honorably served her country in the Coast Guard during World War II.
Survivors include her sons, James P. Schuessler and his wife, Susan, of Jackson, Wyo., Bruce C. Schuessler and his wife, Kathy, of Emmaus and Jonathan A. Schuessler and his wife, Nancy, of Plattsburg; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. in the church.
Interment will be Friday in Mount Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
