HAMILTON – Kathryn S. Talbot peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1915 in West Edmeston, a daughter of Stuart and Eva Gassman Shatzel and was a graduate of Leonardsville High School. On June 23, 1935, Kathryn married G. Edward Talbot in the West Edmeston Baptist Church. They were married 60 years before Mr. Talbot died in April 1996.
Kathryn was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hamilton. For many years, she was active in choir, teaching Sunday school, Release Time in school, Vacation Bible schools, and hosting Bible studies in her home in West Edmeston, Whitesboro, Concord, Va. and Hamilton. With her husband, she did volunteer work in hospitals and home visitations while they lived in Virginia. She loved having her family with her and enjoyed doing special things for them. She was a great cook and her home was always open to everyone.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Carol and Don Havens of Hamilton; grandsons, Terrence (Christina) Havens of West Winfield; Jayme of Oklahoma City, and Andrew (Connie) of Oklahoma City; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her son, Peter in July 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, followed by burial in the West Edmeston Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Her family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Cohen and the staff of the Community Memorial Hospital Extended Care for the care given to Kathryn.
