NORWICH – Karen E. (Joy) Cohen, 59, Norwich, died of liver cancer on April 24, 2009.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Elynor Joy, formerly of Norwich. Karen is survived by six children: Debra Cohen, James Cohen, Paul Cohen, John Cohen, Joshua Nadeau, and Matthew Nadeau; two grandchildren: Jack Cohen and Brienna Cohen; as well as a large extended family across the country.
An avid reader, genealogist, and historian, Karen was a graduate of Morrisville State College, where she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society and a volunteer with the Chenango County Historical Society. Karen was a skilled pen and ink artist, writer, and craftswoman with a love for maritime history, Boston, and animals of all kinds. She was an adoring mother, and is loved and missed by all.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
