GUILFORD – Janice A. Lindsey, 79, formerly of Guilford and Norwich, passed away April 18, 2009 at the New York State Veterans’ Home, Oxford.
She was born on May 12, 1929 in Johnson City, the daughter of the late Harold and Doris (Tupper) Fuller. She was predeceased by her husbands, Kenneth Ackerson, Edwin Hauer and William Lindsey.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Lisa and Al Lester of Norwich, her grandchildren, Douglas and Kari Ackerson of Binghamton, Matthew Ackerson of Norwich and Lucas and Sarah Codington of Unadilla; her great grandchildren, Cameron Mahalko, Connor Ackerson, Christopher Ackerson, Olivia Ackerson, Cambre Codington and Tatum Codington; and her sister and brother in law, Judith and Thomas Clark of Endwell and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harold Fuller, Jr. and Richard Fuller; her sister Joyce Barnard and her daughter Laurie Crandall.
Jan graduated from Guilford Central School. She was well known for her athletic feats. She loved playing softball and basketball, golfing at Way Back of Sundown and bowling. She was a member of the Guilford United Methodist Church. She retired from the NYS Veterans’ Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Paul Amara, pastor of her church officiating.
