John Perry


NEW BERLIN – John F. Perry of New Berlin and Dunedin, Fla., died May 20, 2009.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1930 in Brooklyn, the son of John H. & Dorothy (Seaman) Perry, who predeceased him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Gilligan Perry. John was the father of Daniel (Maureen) Perry, Regina “Gina” Perry of New Berlin, and Ann Marie (John) Zeaser III of Crownsville, Md. He was the brother of Dorothea Raschdorf of Spotswood, N.J. and Mary Guillemette of Old Bridge, N.J. and the grandfather of Ryan, Micah and Raphael Perry of New Berlin, and Regan, Lilly and Daniel Zeaser of Crownsville, Md. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
John attended St. Johns University. He was employed for 33 years by Preferred Mutual Insurance Company of New Berlin, where he was the Assistant Secretary, retiring in 1993. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and member of the American Legion, DAV and Knights of Columbus. He was a Communicant of St. Therese, the Little Flower Church in New Berlin, and Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Dunedin, Fla.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Church in New Berlin at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Father Lester Smith of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church officiating. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin. Commitment will be held in the National Cemetery in Saratoga.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the DAV, Chapter 200, Oneonta NY 13820 or Hospice of Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760.
