SHERBURNE – Henry “Hank” Maltzan, 87, of State Highway 80, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 at his home.
He was born Sept. 22, 1921 in North Norwich, one of 11 children of Ferdinand and Emilie Schmidt Maltzan, and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. Hank was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked on the family farm for several years, and then for Proctoer & Gamble in Norwich for 30 years until his retirement.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruby Maltzan of Lebanon, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Hank was predeceased by three brothers, Emil, August and Edward Maltzan, and six sisters, Julia Postiglion, Alma Jaquay, Anna Fairchild, Olga Densmore, Martha Wedge Fairchild and Adeline Maltzan.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral services or calling hours.
Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family in the Episcopal Church Cemetery, Sherburne.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
