OXFORD – Dorothy June Sabin, 90, of Oxford, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Chenango Memorial Health Care Facility, Norwich.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rexford in 1970. Dorothy is survived by children, J. Keith and Beverly Sabin and family of Greene, David S. and Jennie Sabin and family of Hopkinsville, Kent., Stanley A. and Dauna Sabin and family of Trenton, Kent., Melody G. and Russell Root and daughter of Lebanon, Pa.; brother, Robert and Stevie Pontius of Little Falls; two sisters, Jean VanValkenburg, Joyce and Bernie TenEyck of St. Johnsville.
Dorothy was a former member of the board of Chenango County Cooperative Extension. She was an avid reader and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m.Friday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene, NY 13778. Burial will be in Warn-Tenbroeck Cemetery, Brisben.
Friends of the family may call Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. at Root Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oxford Emergency Squad or Chenango County Hospice.
