OXFORD – The funeral service for  Robert (Bob) Abram Boice, 71, of 2870 Baconton, Ga., who died Monday, June 15, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Hospital, will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Albany Baptist Church. Pastor Eron White will officiate. Interment will follow at Leesburg Cemetery.
A native of Cooperstown, Mr. Boice had lived in Baconton for the past two years, moving from Bradenton, Fla. He was a retired manager with Westway Shell in Bradenton, Fla., was an honorary volunteer with the Oxford Fire Department and was a member of the Albany Baptist Church. Mr. Boice was preceded in death by his parents, Abram Homer Boice and Lillian Baker Boice and a brother, Donald Boice.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Norma Boice of Baconton, Ga., two sons, Lenny Boice and his wife, Charlene of Lake City, Fla. and Tommy Boice of Sarasota, Fla.: grandchildren, Amie Collins, Noah Collins, Jessica Boice, Michael Boice and April Boice, great-grandchildren, Cloe and Mandi Boice. Two special companions, Mike and Murphy.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
