David Koterba, 77, of Norwich, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 17, 2013, in the Wilson Regional Medical Center of Johnson City following a brief illness.
Dave was born Sept. 25, 1936 in Patterson, NJ the son of John and Anna Koterba. He was a graduate of the East Orange High School and furthered his education by attending Fairleigh-Dickinson University where he earned his engineering degree. On Dec. 9, 1961 in Ridgewood, NJ he married Joyce Rouwendal who survives.
Dave moved with his family to the Norwich area in 1970 where he gained employment first with Norwich-Eaton as an Industrial Engineer and then onto Amphenol Corp. of Sidney. In 1990 he began his own consulting business for several corporations. He was also a very active and dedicated member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church of Norwich.
Dave is survived by his wife Joyce of Norwich, his children Sharon Balestra of Bloomfield, David Koterba and wife Maggie of Norwich, his grandchildren Lydia and Noah Balestra, Alexander Koterba, his sisters Celia Mitchka of Ohio, Ruth Burns of Ind. and Becky Blicharz and husband Mitchell of Mont. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Dave was predeceased by his sisters Jean Livermore and Rachel Alexander and his brothers Frank and Michael Koterba.
Funeral services for Dave will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. fom the Broad St. United Methodist Church. The Rev. Nancy Hale, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery of Whitestore.
Friends may call at the Broad St. United Methodist Church on Sat. from 1-2 p.m.
