Alan P. Schook, 63, of Boos-Law Rd., passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 at Wilson Regional Medical Center in Johnson City.
He was born July 26, 1950 in Brooklyn, a son of Adolph and Madelyn Wilson Schook and was a graduate of Levittown, NY schools. On October 26, 1971, Alan married Debra L. Robertson in Shirley, NY. They resided in Walton before moving to Smyrna in 1993. Alan was a chef at several diners and restaurants until he retired. He had also been an auto mechanic at one time. He and Debra were foster parents for many years.
Alan was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Smyrna. He had previously belonged to the First Baptist Church in Walton.
Surviving are his wife, Debra; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doreen and Joseph Murello, Sandra and Michael Falciglia, all of VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Pam Schook of SC; Adolph and Tina Schook of FL; Kenneth and Mary Ellen Schook of Lindenhurst, NY; Robert Junge of VA; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4pm.
