LELAND WILCOX
SOUTH OTSELIC – Leland Sanford Wilcox, 90, of South Otselic, NY, passed away suddenly on January 2, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Wilcox was born in Erieville, NY on January 1, 1924, a son of the late Edgar and Pansy Sternburg Wilcox. A longtime resident of this area, he was an associate member of the Perry Cook American Legion Post #973, South Otselic. He retired from the Town of Otselic Highway Department after several years of service.
He is survived by his sisters, Marie Graves of South Otselic, Ruby Watson of Georgetown, and Elaine (Louis) Oros of Cincinnatus; and a brother, Gene (Rosemary) Wilcox of DeRuyter. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear friends, Barbara, Kevin, Shawn, and Shelby Hillman of South Otselic.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Adella (Grewe) Wilcox on November 27, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Monday, January 6, 2014, at 1 p.m., with Jeanne Angell officiating. There will be no prior calling hours. His niece, Pat Wohlgemuth, has donated a grave at Valley View Cemetery, South Otselic, where the burial will take place in the spring.
