OSCEOLA, PA – Tammy Lynn Witter Strain, age 50 of Osceola, PA passed away on Monday, September 08, 2014 at her home. Born April 3, 1964 in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of the late Lee and June (Colvin) Witter. She married Lewis R. “Butch” Strain on September 9, 1989.
Tammy was an LPN and worked at the Elcor Nursing Home in Horseheads, NY. She was a member of the Elkland Moose Lodge and enjoyed crocheting, painting and reading.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Butch Strain; her daughter, Leah Cille Strain of Osceola, PA and Kimberly (D.J. Lozo) Boom of Gillett, who she thought of like a daughter; sisters, Rose and Tim Cummings of Elkland, Patty and Ray Sackrider of Lawrenceville, Nancy and Ernie Empson of Elkland and Pam and Ed Schoonmaker of Bloomsburg; a brother, Chuck Witter of Osceola; her mother in law, Alberta Strain of Plymouth, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, 1:00 PM with Rev. Larry O’Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Knoxville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family, 228 Holden Brook Rd., Osceola, PA 16942 to help with Leah’s college education.
