EARLVILLE – Ruth A. Speh, 77, of Fayette St., passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Oneida Healthcare.
She was born September 26, 1936 in Harpursville, NY, a daughter of Harold and Mildred Allen Davall and was a graduate of Norwich High School. In 1960, she married Willard J. Speh in Earlville who predeceased her. Ruth worked at ARC in Eaton and did childcare in her home. She was a creative person who enjoyed quilting, crafting and knitting sweaters for the needy.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earlville.
Surviving are her children, Shanna and James Spinella of Clinton; Stephen Speh of FL; Suzanne and Edsall Hodges of Sherburne; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Norma Boice of GA; Mary Day of Bath, NY; Nancy and Paul Nutter of Oxford; grandchildren, Jordan and Shanna Spinella, Jeremy and Katie Spinella all of New Hartford; Brian Speh and Kendra Speh, both of Chicago; Lindsay Hodges of Falmouth MA; Cole Hodges and Emma Hodges both of Sherburne; great-grandchildren, Julianna, Joseph, Mason and Cameron Spinella; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Davall.
Private graveside services will be held in the Earlville Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
