JAMES G. ROBISON
NORWICH – James G. “Jim” Robison, 82, of Norwich, passed away with his wife at his side on October 3, 2014 at his home.
Jim was born Nov. 7, 1931 in Schenectady, NY the son of Clarence and Emma (Aigner) Robison. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School with the class of 1949 and later from the American Locomotive and General Electric Drafting and Design apprenticeship programs. Jim served his country in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 where he was a Troop Information Specialist.
On August 1, 1954 in St. Patrick’s Church in Cohoes, NY he married Nola Waterman who survives. Following his marriage Jim worked for Allis Chalmers Steam Turbine Division and from 1958 with the Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals, later Procter and Gamble, from which he retired in 1993.
Jim had many hobbies. He enjoyed driving Class 8 trucks and was always interested in mechanical devices. He also enjoyed building clocks, furniture and wood models, many of which he gave to his children and grandchildren. Jim enjoyed volunteering at the Northeast Classic Car Museum where he gave tours and helped with various projects. He was involved with his church and built, along with Frank Hoffman, the Nativity Stable for St. Paul’s Church. Jim very much enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren in many ways including supporting home improvement projects and traveling to various sporting and musical performances. He and Nola also enjoyed traveling and visiting their vacation home in Ocean Cith, MD.
Jim is survived by his wife Nola of Norwich, his children Thomas Robison and wife Carolyn of Burnt Hills, NY, Edward Robison and wife Clare of Saratoga, CA and Robert Robison and wife Christine of Saline, MI along with his 6 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 7-9 p.m.
