HERMAN J. HOFMANN
Herman "Butch" Joseph Hofmann, Jr., 68, of 4165 Rolling Creek Drive, Vale, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Carolinas HealthCare System Lincoln in Lincolnton.
He was born in Greene, NY on October 4 1946 to the late Herman Joseph Hofmann, Sr. and Irmagard Giess Hofmann. He was a retired postmaster of the Newton Post Office. He was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gladys Evelyn Hayner Hofmann; two sons, Kurt Hofmann and wife Gabrielle of Newton and Jared Hofmann and wife Thersa of Sun City, CA; daughter, Deanna Maryee Hofmann of Vale; three brothers Bill Hofmann, Robert Hofmann and John Hofmann all of New York; sister Rose Shultis of New York; and one grandchild, Trent Hofmann.
