MARION FOSTER
NORWICH – Marion “Mickey” Foster, 85, of Norwich passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.
Mickey was born on July 25, 1929 daughter of the late Paul and Pauline (Wright) McCoy in Sherburne. On July 3, 1949 she married the late Morris Foster in DeRuyter, NY. Mickey was a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary in DeRuyter and the Broad St. United Methodist Church in Norwich.
Mickey loved animals and people. She could strike up a conversation with anyone. Mickey enjoyed helping people and she was quick to lend a hand to those in need. She was a frequent volunteer at the Broad St. United Methodist Church soup kitchen. Mickey was an avid camper. She and Morris always looked forward to visiting new places together.
Mickey is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Foster of Norwich, Debbie Foster of Norwich; her nieces, Kelly Foster of Morrisville, Vivian Street of Benson, NC, Valerie Weston of Rolesville, NC; a nephew, Wayne Foster of Hamilton and her special friends, Celia and Ginny.
Mickey was predeceased by her husband, Morris and her brothers Olan McCoy, Wade McCoy, Graydon McCoy and Mahlon McCoy.
A graveside service for Marion will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in the spring of 2015.
