ASHLEY A. TEFFT
MILFORD – Ashley A. Tefft, 22 of Tansey Hill Road in the Town of Milford died tragically Thursday morning April 2, 2015 in a residential fire at the Cherry Valley family home of her girlfriend Gabrielle “Gabby” Sabler who, together with Gabby’s brother Anthony, also perished in the fire.
Born January 28, 1993 in Oneonta, Ashley was the daughter of Dennis and Donna (Underwood) Tefft of Milford.
Ashley or “Ash” to many of her family and friends loved art and all forms of music. After high school (Milford Class of 2011 ) she spent many hours simply pursuing her many talents in both the music and art fields. She especially enjoyed painting and drawing as well as and collecting nutcrackers of all types.
Ashley is survived by her parents, her brother, Jacob (Jeanine) Tefft of Albany, her sister, Jennifer Bruce of Sharon Springs, two nieces, Hanna Weller of Cherry Valley and Braelyn Bruce of Sharon Springs, and a nephew, Jeremiah Bruce also of Sharon Springs. Additionally, she is survived by her grandfather, Marcene (Barbara) Tefft of Norwich, by many, many uncles, aunts and cousins as well as by her beloved Pug “Winston”. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Cora Tefft.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday April 8, 2015 at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home, 28 Pioneer Street, Cooperstown with Rev. Sylvia Barrett, pastor of the Milford United Methodist Church officiating. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 4pm until the time of the service. Following the service, a reception will be held in the Milford United Methodist Church Reception Hall. Burial will occur in the spring.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that those who so desire make donations in Ashley’s memory to the charity or cause of their choice.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown.
