DOROTHY M. BRODMAN
NORWICH – Dorothy M. Brodman, 92, of Norwich, passed away early Sunday morning, April 12, 2015, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Dorothy was born on March 19, 1923 in Manhattan the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Wright) Hahn. She attended school in the Bronx and on May 4, 1941 she married Frederick O. Brodman who passed away in 1978. Dorothy moved with her husband to Oxford following his retirement in 1975 and in 1976 they moved to No. Norwich. She had worked for 24 years as a nurses aide at the Chenango Valley Home retiring in 2005.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Janet VanBrunt and husband Jim of Hornell, Loretta Farmer and husband Gary of Grove City, Ohio, Frederick Brodman of Rocky Point, NY, her sister Florence Monahan of Orient Point, NY and her brother Joseph Hahn of Idaho. Also surviving are her grandchildren; James Van Brunt and wife Rebecca, Robert Van Brunt and wife Deborah Caraco, Michael Van Brunt and wife Heather Daly, Janel Curras-Santana and husband Chris, Kerstin Powers and husband Daniel, Sabrina Brodman, Eric Brodman and Gary Brodman, 13 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters Frances and Grace Hahn and her brother Robert Hahn.
A funeral service for Dorothy will be held on Monday evening, April 13, at 7 p.m. from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in the Sherburne West Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
