RICHARD (DICK) M. SERAFEN
HENDERSON, NEVADA – Richard (Dick) M. Serafen, formerly of Norwich passed away in Henderson NV on March 11,2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on January 13,1931 in Elk Creek NY the only son of Peter and Rose Serafen. He served in the USAF during The Korean war and graduated from SUNY Cobelskill. He was a lifetime member of The Elks Club. He and his wife Louise owned and operated many area Beauty Salons and real estate rentals.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, two sons, a daughter and their spouses, Steve and Robin, Cooperstown NY, Andy and Jan, Atlanta GA, Elaine and Doug Marchant, Norwich , a daughter in law and her husband, Lisa (Eddy) and Gregg Pinney, Oneonta NY, eight Grandchildren, Nathan Young, Lauren and Captain Glenn M.Cameron ,Chris Marchant, Allison, Alyssa, Steven, Katie and Elizabeth Serafen, Three great grandchildren, Layla Young, Landon Marchant and Avery Cameron. His son Rick passed away in 1984 after a tragic accident. His children and many of his grandchildren along with his wife were by his side during his final hours.
He was a kind and gentle man and always said that his family was his greatest source of happiness. Donations in memory of Dick can be sent to Wounded Warriors,St.Jude’s or Hospice.
