KATHLEEN LEE (ANNESI) JORDAN
CHARLESTON, SC – Kathleen “Kathy” Jordan, 70, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Charleston Hospice Center in Charleston, SC with her family by her side. Her unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through the last seven months in her courageous fight against cancer.
Born on April 19, 1944 in Myrtle Beach, SC, Kathy was the daughter of Anthony J. and Ruth (Dromgoole) Annesi of Sherburne, NY, who welcomed her to heaven.
Kathy grew up in Sherburne, NY and attended Sherburne High School. She was prom queen her junior year and was a New York State drum majorette champion for the Sherburne High School band. She attended CCBI (Central City Business Institute) in Syracuse, NY with a secretarial/business degree. Upon graduating from CCBI, she worked for the Syracuse Chiefs AAA baseball team as secretary to the General Manager.
In 1967, Kathy married the love of her life, Thomas M. Jordan, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky, who survives. She raised their family in Quincy, IL and Cherry Hill, NJ before moving to Virginia Beach, VA in 1994.
Kathy centered her life around her family. Known as Mimi by her grandchildren, she enjoyed attending as many of their school and sport functions as possible. She took great pride in their accomplishments.
Kathy was very artistic and creative. She enjoyed making crafts and home stenciling. She was active in her church, volunteering and cooking for various functions. With her amiable personality and sincere genuineness, she made friends everywhere and had a way of making everyone feel special.
Kathy is survived by her daughter Jacqueline (Salvatore) Imburgia of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sons Jason (Alexis) Jordan and Joel (Gemma) Jordan, both of Brooklyn, NY; and, grandchildren Evan and Jordan Imburgia, Georgia, Jude, Jaia, and Jack Jordan.
Kathy, the oldest of five, is survived by her siblings Patricia (John) Carapella of Liverpool, NY; Anthony (Jill) Annesi, Jr., of Leland, NC; Lora (Thomas) Rowe of Norwich, NY; and Paula Annesi of Syracuse, NY.
She is also survived by nieces Christa, Carrie, and Cayla Carapella, and Amanda (Logan) LeeMasci; nephew Brian Annesi; great niece Brooke Copani; great nephews Luke and Mace LeeMasci; two aunts Ann (Joseph) Cunningham and Florence Dromgoole; as well as several cousins.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 5:40 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m. at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church, E. State St., Sherburne.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support.
