SOUTH PLYMOUTH – William H. Young, 68, of South Plymouth, passed away Friday afternoon, April 24, 2015, at the Wilson Hospital of Johnson City.
Bill was born on December 19, 1946 in Norwich the son of Clyde and Lena (Riggall) Young. He grew up in the Sherburne area where he attended the local schools. On October 20, 1968 he married Carol Kelsey who survives.
Bill was a hard worker all of his life. He had been employed by Chenango Valley Pet Foods and it’s predecessor’s for over 40 years as a mill operator. A good man with a big heart he couldn’t say no to anyone, especially his children. He loved his family, enjoyed going hunting with his boys and treated everyone with kindness. He also had a soft spot in his heart for all kinds of animals.
Bill is survived by his wife Carol of South Plymouth, his children Russell Young of Gilbertsville, Allen Young of Plymouth, Pamela Young of South Plymouth, his siblings Frenda Papalino of Norwich, David Young and wife Linda of Oneonta and Paul Young and wife Margaret of New Berlin. Also surviving are his grandchildren Jacqueline Young, Colby Young, Alena Young, Colton Young, Mary Beth Young and Jayden Burrell along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill was predeceased by his brothers Richard, Jerry, Ronald and James.
A funeral service for Bill will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
