RICHARD L. CUMMINGS
NORWICH – Richard L. Cummings, 89 yrs. old of Norwich, NY passed away on July 8, 2015 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
Richard was born on June 3, 1926 in Otselic, NY the son of Ray & Inez (Whitmore) Cummings. His childhood was spent in the Norwich area and on a farm on Dilly Hill Road in New Berlin, NY.
He served in the US Army during WWII from 1944-1946 and was later employed as a carpenter for Cummings Brothers Contractors of Norwich, NY. He enjoyed fishing, wood crafts and hunting.
Richard is survived by his children; Terry & Cathy Cummings of South Plymouth, Linda Morningstar of Sherburne, Greg & Sharon Hepburn of Horseheads, NY and Richard Cummings and Laurie Tyler of Norwich, NY as well as his grandchildren; Andrew & Rindy Cummings, Joel & Liza Cummings, Christopher & Erica Tyler, Shane Cummings, Elizabeth Cummings and Adam Hepburn as well as his Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Katherine Cummings of Norwich, NY, his companion, Irene Cook of Norwich, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers; Vernon, Raymond, Edwin, Lee, Ralph and Leslie Cummings.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
