HENRY ARDEN MARVIN
NORWICH – Henry Arden Marvin, 87, a life long resident of the Norwich area, passed away Friday morning, July 10, 2015, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Arden was born on December 13, 1927 in Norwich the son of Henry and Mabel (Ganung) Marvin. In his early school years he attended the school in Lyon Brook and later the Norwich schools. A dairy farmer all of his life he had owned and operated a farm on Wahlberg road. For a brief period of time he had worked for the railroad.
Above all else, Arden was a wonderful father to his children and a Christian man all of his life.
Arden is survived by his children; Jonathan Marvin and wife Marcella of NC, Gloria Holmes of Norwich, Paul Marvin and wife Alex of NC, Luke Marvin and wife Debbie of Mass., Evangeline Marvin also of Mass., Reuben Marvin of Binghamton and John Henry Marvin of Norwich, his sisters Ola Bates of Norwich and Grace McGovern of VA along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins
Arden was predeceased by his daughter Rebecca Reel, his sister Hazel Shank and brothers Daniel and Oliver Marvin.
A service for Arden will be held on Tuesday evening at 7pm from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Matt Frayer, Pastor of the Bible Baptist Church of Norwich will officiate.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-7 pm.
