EARLVILLE – Hazel E. Ryberg, 90 of South Main St., passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Chenango Memorial Residential Healthcare Facility in Norwich.
She was born December 14, 1924 in Andes, NY, a daughter of Seth and Mary Hilliker Howland and received her education in Andes schools. On September 1, 1946, Hazel married Paul E. Ryberg, Jr. in East McDonough, NY. He predeceased her on March 11, 2013. Hazel was the manager of the Treasured Memories store in Earlville, and a member of the Earlville Assembly of God Church. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed reading. She always loved to be surrounded by her family.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Paul E., III and Robin Ryberg of Earlville; a daughter, Susan Ryberg of Oswego; a brother Roger Howland of Nichols; grandchildren, Aaron and Lynne Ryberg of South New Berlin, and Melissa Ryberg of Earlville; four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Tiffany, John and Samantha, a great-great-grandson, Dante, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Vera Grant, Elsie Ryberg and Ethel Lamb, and brothers, Milton, Harry and Charles Howland.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Monday, November 16, 2015 in the Earlville Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Earlville Fire Department or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
