LINDA M. GREEN
Linda M. Green, 70, a life long resident of Norwich and well known in the Norwich community, passed away Thursday morning, November 19, 2015, in the Chenango Memorail Hospital.
Linda was born on July 31, 1945 in Norwich the daughter of Ronald “Nig” and Juanita (Hamilton) McIntyre. She grew up in Norwich and was a 1963 graduate of the Norwich High School. On November 7, 1964 in Norwich she married Charles (Chuck) Green.
Linda was a vibrant individual who always had a smile on her face and enjoyed being with people. She was well known throughout the community and Chenango County. Her love of faith and children led her to teaching at Holy Family School for 19 years. Linda also served as Executive Director of the American Cancer Society, sold real estate for Peggy Parker Real Estate and was a vital force in the Chenango County Historical Society. She also worked for many years at the Evening Sun in the advertising dept. In her early years she worked as a waitress at the Ontario Hotel. Linda also had a love of music and had a tremendous voice. Over the years she sang at many weddings, funerals and various functions throughout the area.
Linda leaves behind a loving family and a multitude of friends.
She is survived by her husband Charles (Chuck) Green of Norwich, her mother Juanita McIntyre also of Norwich, her children Melissa Campbell and husband Trad of Pittsfield, Mass., Allison Tallon and husband Brendan of Westfield, Mass., her grandchildren Isabella, Julian and Liam Tallon, Chelsea, Jenna, Gillian and Paige Campbell. Also surviving are her siblings, Patricia Meigs and husband Andy of Norwich Bonnie Romano and husband Charles of Roanoke, VA, Candace Nash and husband Art of Endwell, Russell McIntyre and wife Andrea of Sidney, her half brothers Ronald McIntyre and wife Shirley of GA, and Robert McIntyre and wife Jackie of Endwell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Linda was predeceased by her brother Gary McIntyre and step-sister Alice Holtslander.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 25, at 11:00 am from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
