CRYSTAL LYNN SCHULTZ PAINO
Crystal Lynn Schultz Paino of Norwich passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2015. She was born on November 26, 1975 in Norwich the daughter of James and Janice Williams, where she spent most of her life. She made her home with Paul and Shirley Schultz in Oxford for nine years.
Crystal is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” Paino of Norwich; her mother, Janice Williams of Jacksonville, FL; her mother in law, Margaret Paino and sisters in law, Mary Richardson of Norwich and Margaret Yohe of Maryland, NY. She is also survived by her “Mom” Shirley Schultz of Oxford and her nieces, Hayley Richardson and Ericka Wingler. Her aunt: Beverly Curley of Norwich; her uncles, Roger “Jack” Williams of Hamilton and Allen Williams of Burlington Flats and several cousins also survive. She was predeceased by her father James Williams and Paul Schultz, whom she called “Dad”.
Crystal was a graduate of Binghamton University and received her teaching degree from SUNY Cortland. She was a lead teacher at Catholic Charities at the Children’s Center in Norwich until the center closed. She then went to work for Preferred Mutual Insurance Co. in New Berlin. Crystal was a member of American Legion Post #189 in Norwich, where she was past Secretary of the Legion Riders. She and her husband, Joe, participated in many of the Rider’s events. She loved riding her “Harley”. Crystal was an amazing artist and under the direction of Francis Wilcox became an accomplished flutist. She was a member of the United Church of Oxford, where she often accompanied the choir with her flute on Sunday mornings. She was also a member of the Praise Band of the church and the Oxford Community Band. Crystal will be remembered for her love of animals, especially Chappy and Nellie her beloved pups.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 7:00 PM from the United Church of Oxford, 25 Main St., Oxford with Rev. Linda Rackliffe officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the Fort Hill Building of the church.
