MARION CASTLE
Marion Castle, 92 of Oxford, passed away February 27, 2016. Early Saturday morning our precious mother and grandmother passed away peacefully after a long illness. She was a very special person who was always thinking of others and never thinking of herself. Marion touched her children and all 16 of her grandchildren in a special way as well as her great grandchildren, friends, extended family and acquaintances. She was long the center of our family and gatherings at her home were frequent. She was especially known for her pies. 92 years is a long life and it is rare and a blessing to live to be a great-great grandparent as her mother did. Her family is comforted to know the Lord has reunited her with her husband, Robert and her loved ones who have passed.
She is survived by her children; Ralph and Kathy Castle of Coventryville, Lawrence and Joyce Castle of West Winfield, Beverly Castle of Otego and Barbara Castle of Oxford; her grandchildren, Stephanie Kennedy, David Castle, Ann Kennedy, Kathleen White, Michele Castle, Robert Castle, Daniel Castle, Timothy Castle, Jeffery Castle, Suzanne Williams, Dominic Piscitello, Joseph Piscitello, Angelo Piscitello, Wendy Hofmann, Debbie Hofmann-Seiler and Richard D. Hofmann. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Baldwin of Norwich and Beverly Kinter of Afton. Several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by her brother Leo Hoadley and her step brother Grayden Smith.
Marion had worked at Bennett-Ireland in Norwich for many years. She enjoyed reading, bowling, canning and baking. She loved her cats and dogs.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with Pastor William Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
