Lance J. Franklin, 53, of Oxford, passed away Sunday afternoon at his home in Oxford.
Lance was born in Oxford on November 19, 1962 the son of M. (Wighty) and Florence (Keating) Franklin. He attended the Oxford school and graduated with the Class of 1980. Athletically inclined, Lance played football during his high school years and was a member of the undefeated football team in 1979. He made his home in New Mexico and California for over 20 years, returning to the area in 1999. While in the area he worked in the construction business as a carpenter and was employed by the Fahs-Ralston Co. in Binghamton. One of the projects he worked on was the building of Fred’s Inn Motel.
Lance is survived by his brother Matthew Franklin of Oxford, his sister Lisa Franklin of PA along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Lance was predeceased by his parents M. Dwight and Florence and his sisters Linda and Mary Ann.
At Lance’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
Interment will be in the J.D.Lewis Cemetery of Preston.
