PENOBSCOT, ME – Martin Scott Johnson passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at approximately 6:33pm. He was in the family home at the time of his passing surrounded by his loving wife Carroll, son Matthew and daughter-in-law Shannon.
His final moments consisted of a last smile and a grateful, loving squeeze of both of his hands, one upon his wife of nearly 36 years and the other upon his only son of almost 35 years. Marty lived a full life from February 3, 1960 through April 1st 2016.
During his life he accomplished many things. He was a decorated Army soldier, a self made and skillful finish carpenter who made many fine finish cabinetry projects over the years, he was a mechanic and tractor business owner, code enforcement officer of Penobscot, volunteer firefighter, baseball coach, mentor and friend to many. He was a loving husband, father and so much more.
It would be so much easier to list off the things he did not do, than to list his accomplishments.
He leaves behind his wife, Carroll Johnson, Penobscot, Maine; his son, Matthew Johnson; daughter-in-law Shannon Trask; four granddaughters Kylie Johnson, Madalynn Benoit-Johnson, Haylee and Heather Jacobs, and an adopted grandson, Cole Casey, all of Orland, Maine.

He was predeceased by his mother, Sarah Mae Johnson, his grandparents and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 am, April 30, 2016 at the Riposta Funeral home in Belfast, Maine.
In lieu of flowers and arrangements, please send a donation in his remembrance to either the Bangor Humane Society, St. Jude’s Hospital or the Arbor Day Foundation. These were places Marty really cared about.
