Cheryl McGowan, 56, of Oxford, passed away on April 26, 2016. Cheryl was born on October 17, 1959 in Oxford, NY a daughter of the late Cecil and Esther (Buckland)McGowan.
Cheryl is survived by her brother Timothy McGowan (Connie Rolison), and her sister Julie McGowan (John Souders). She is also survived by her good friends Rick DuBois and Ginny. Also surviving are several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cheryl graduated from Oxford Academy and Central Schools in 1978 with an academic history playing Field Hockey, Soft Ball, Cheerleading, Band, and Ski Club.
She was a member on the Fort Hill Post American Legion Auxiliary. She loved animals and going camping. She also enjoyed going to Turning Stone Casino with her good friend Mary Benedict.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion, PO Box PO Box 217, Oxford, NY 13830. A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
