Mrs. Jessie (Traulsen) Garringer, of Greene, NY, beloved wife of Kent E. Garringer, passed away May 23, 2016, at Wilson Hospital. Jessie was a retired school teacher, who had devoted her life to children; her favorite quote was that she would “rather wear out then rust out.”
Daughter of Henry and Jessie “Meyer” Traulsen, besides her loving husband, Jessie is survived by her siblings, Claudia (Peter) Roche, Terri (Gene) Robillard. Jessie is also survived by friend Hilde, mother to surviving children, Kent C. (Regina) Garringer, Pamela (Craig) Kiziukicwicz, Eric (Michelle) Garringer; Terri Garringer, mother of grandchildren, Kaleb and Hannah; grandchildren, Zack, Kait, Alyssa and Calob; one great-grandson, Wyatt Lehew; sister-in-law, Mary (Larry) Collins and Wendy Traulsen; brother-in-law, James Garringer and Bill Proudman. Nieces and nephews, Lori (John), Bobby, Patrick, Kristen (Jamie), Bobby (Adele), John (Jennifer) and many close friends also survive.
Jessie was predeceased by her brother, Henry Traulsen, Marty Traulsen; and sister Joan Proudman,
Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00am at the Port Crane First Baptist Church, Pastor Daniel C. Baker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jessie’s memory to the Port Crane First Baptist Church, 38 Canal Street, Port Crane, New York 13833-0033.
