NORWICH – Jeffrey W. Monroe, 61, of Hickok Ave., passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at his home.
He was born March 8, 195 in Norwich, a son of Myron and Frances Lyons Monroe and was a graduate of Oxford High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On October 1, 1983, Jeffrey married Beverly Bower in Smyrna. He was the groundskeeper at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Norwich for many years. He was meticulous in the care of the cemetery grounds and took great pride in his work. He had previously worked for the Bluestone Golf Course in Oxford. Jeff was an antique collector, especially radio and stereo equipment as well as globes of the earth.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly; his mother, Frances Daniels of Norwich; two half-brothers, Michael and Greg.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY.
