Leon E. Andrews, 82, of McDonough, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 18, 2016 at Norwich Rehabilitation Center. He was predeceased by a brother, Amos Andrews and by a sister ,Jean Green. Leon is survived by 3 sons, John Andrews of Norwich, Joseph Andrews of Florida, Jeffrey Andrews of Binghamton; daughter, Michelle Horowitz of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Jan Andrews of Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Bill Hoyt of Greene; brother, Earl Andrews of Oregon; grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a long time friend Doris Whitmore of Smithville Flats. Leon retired from Raymond Corporation in Greene after 40 years of service. He enjoyed playing softball for over 50 years an area leagues until he was 73 years old.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street Greene, New York 13778. Burial will be in Upper Cemetery, Smithville Flats. Friends of the family may call Wednesday 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Root Funeral Home.
