SHERBURNE – George B. “Scooter” Prosser, 54, of Knapp Rd., passed away Monday, June 20, 2016 in Sherburne.
He was born March 22, 1962 in Norwich, a son of Jack and Brenda Barry Prosser and was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School in 1981. On August 15, 1992, he married Vicki S. Law in Smyrna. Affectionately known as “Scooter” to his family and friends, he worked in telecommunications at Marconi Communications and then Performance Communications in Norwich. Most recently, he was employed at Hamilton Products in Sherburne.
Scooter was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #876 of Sherburne. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to cook and barbeque, especially pork roasts that were highly favored at parties and family gatherings. He was a family man who cherished his wife, children and siblings. He was a good friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki; his mother, Brenda Prosser of Sherburne; his children, Sara Prosser and her fiancé, Kyle Ryan, Bradley Prosser and Karen Osburn, all of Sherburne; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy Prosser of Sherburne, Jackie Adsit of North Carolina, Kiamesha and Andrew Waldruff of North Norwich; a granddaughter, Atti Prosser, and a soon-to-be grandson, Wilson. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His father, Jack, predeceased him.
A Memorial service will be held at 7pm Thursday, June 23, 2016 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment is private at the convenience of his family.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7pm prior to the service.
