Mrs. Maybelle Ruth Whiteman of Norwich, NY, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Chenango Memorial Hospital. She was 92.
She was born December 16, 1923 in Watertown, NY the daughter of the late Frank and Hattie Morehouse Webb.
She was devoted to her loving husband Harold for 61 years until his passing in April 2005.
She was a Life Member of the VFW Post 161 in Port Jervis and was a devoted donor to wounded veteran charities.
A family statement read: “She loved being a mom and a grandma. She enjoyed flowers, word puzzle books and being around her family. She will be deeply missed.”

2 Daughters: Margaret Barrack and her husband Charles Dabb of Port Jervis, NY
Elizabeth Tasso and her husband William of Shiloh, IL
1 Son: Harold Whiteman of Norwich, NY
1 Sister: Hazel Bartlett
1 Sister-in-Law: Mary Whiteman
5 Grandchildren: John and his partner Thomas, Mary, Matthew and Jason; 2 Step Grandchildren; Samantha Lynn and Bryan
4 Great Grandchildren: Krissandra, Dakota Skye, Montana Rose and David John; and 1 Step Great Grandchild CJ
Also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter in law Gloria Jean Whiteman; 4 brothers; Theodore, Alvin, George and Charles and 2 Sisters, Nellie and Edna
Friends may call at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 11am - 12:00pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.
Burial will be at Laurel Grove Cemetery overlooking the Delaware River in Port Jervis, NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or any Children’s Hospital.
